Glad you asked!

There are 2 methods of exfoliating the skin;

1)  Mechanical – the use of a brush, sponge, walnuts, diamond crystals (Micro-dermabrasion)

2) Chemical – such as Lactic, Glycolic, Retinol, Salicylic and Enzymes

(from fruits and veggies)

Today we will cover Chemical exfoliation thru Peels. Each chemical or enzyme has a specific function that alters the skin. For example, Lactic (think Lactose) is for Lightening.

Peels come in many different strengths with the gentlest being an Enzyme Peel. We’ve all seen a picture of someone with sheets of DNA hanging off of their face, after having a Peel. Freddy Kruger would be envious!

Although effective, those types of Peels are only used for extreme photo aging, and are not the norm. Most Peels will have you just a bit flaky for 1-3 days. Depending on what skin concern you are wanting to address, such as Acne, Sun Damage, Wrinkling, Dull Complexion will determine the type of Peel you should have.

Other than the concerns listed above, exfoliating on a regular basis (will discuss how often in an upcoming Newsletter) allows your skin to breathe. It also removes that dead layer of skin that has built up over the past 28-30 days that is making you look dull. It’s that layer that is making your makeup not go on as smoothly, and that layer that actually accentuates your uneven skin color and wrinkles – AHHHH!

This month, let’s get in the Halloween spirit and maintain the glow of your skin with a Pumpkin Peel.

Our Pumpkin Peel is 100% organic and is a gentle yet effective way to resurface your skin using pumpkin enzymes….and the smell is amazing! Enzyme Peels typically don’t have you flaking at all, making them safe for even the most sensitive skin as well as those whom are pregnant.

And here’s another treat! Pumpkin has one of the highest concentrations of vitamin A of any vegetable. This makes it an effective way to rejuvenate your skin.

The pumpkin peel uses pumpkin, pineapple, papaya, and mango fruit enzymes and peptides in an organic aloe vera gel base. The non-chemical peel rebalances, regenerates and restores skin while comfrey plant stem cells recharge your skin’s stem cells.

So, if you want that healthy glow for the holiday season, it’s a no-brainer!

What are you waiting for?

It’s the holiday season, and that means it’s time to get out those special recipes. Pumpkins are all around us this month.You might as well make good use of them with this hearty, Pumpkin Ravioli dish. Serve it up in small portions as a first course, that way guests will more likely try it. And enjoy it!
